Thanks BonaPro. That's the kind of information that helps me. I used Pac Strong from the first day it came out and really loved it.
I do like Traffic also but the cost and inability to recatalize it hurts a little. I liked Pac Strong because I could refrigerate it and reuse
the final remaining catalized batch as the first coat on my next job.
I have, ( for decades ), applied a sealer coat of 1 1/2 lb. clear shellac ( Yes, waxed. Non-waxed wasn't available years ago ).
On top of that I applied 3 coats of Bona. I trowel it on with a homemade, handheld wooden trowel with lambswool and apply as heavy
a coat as I can. It always looks great and I never have any issues. Rollers apply too thin a coat. And I don't water pop. I've never
seen the point. If you put down samples ahead of time, the color is selected by the customer and you're ready to begin your job.
3 lb clear, waxed shellac, cut with an equal amount of alcohol to 1 1/2 lbs, works great and never any peeling or lapping issues.
Cutting it down to that level eliminates problems and it's dry in an hour. If you use fans.
