If his quoted install price did not include leveling, did his quote include something about "if we find the subfloor needs leveling, we will quote a cost for leveling depending on the amount of work required" ? Or, if he forgot to include this disclaimer in his quote but realized the floor was not level after starting the job, did he approach the customer with the bad news and required cost to do it right?

The cost to level the floor before installation is much less than the cost to level the floor now. Which amount makes the consumer whole?
